The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Alexy II, has died at the age of 79.

Service and commemoration book in the London Cathedral

The panikhida (memorial service) will be served this Sunday, 7th December, following the Divine Liturgy at the diocesan Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and All Saints, Ennismore Gardens. Following the service, a commemoration book will be available in the Cathedral library, open for all who wish to offer their condolances on the repose of this arch-pastor of the Church.

• After the panikhida, the book of condolences will be available for signing in the Cathedral library, which will remain open throughout the day.
