Bishop Elisey visits the Orthodox Community of St Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge

On 27th January Bishop Elisey of Sourozh made an episcopal visitation to the Orthodox Community of St Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge. Vladyka Elisey celebrated the Divine Liturgy and was assisted by Fr Raphael Armour, the rector of the community and Father Philip Steer. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Elisey preached a sermon to the assembled congregation. In a return address, Fr Raphael thanked the bishop for his greetings and the joy of participating in common prayer, and the choir sang ‘Many Years’. A reception for the bishop was prepared in the hall of one of the Cambridge colleges and the whole congregation was treated to a festal meal. The parish affairs were discussed at the parish general meeting which followed the meal.
