Archpastoral visit to Nottingham

On 11 November, Bishop Elisey of Bogorodsk paid an archpastoral visit to the Parish of St Aidan and St Chad in Nottingham. He was accompanied by Deacon Dimitry Nedostupenko, a cleric of the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and All Saints in London.

Vladyka presided at the Divine Liturgy, at the end of which he addressed the parish priest, Fr Gregory Butler and the Orthodox people of Nottingham who had gathered for the celebration. After conveying the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexis to the community, the Bishop commented on the pastoral work of the parish priest and expressed his hope for a speedy resolution to the ongoing parish dispute within the church.

In response, the parish priest, Fr Gregory, greeted Bishop Elisey and presented him with an icon of the parish’s heavenly patrons, SS Aidan and Chad.

Further exchanges and fellowship continued over the festal meal prepared by the parishioners.
